Ged Shields

I retired as a Sales Manager in April 2022, I Started Playing Squash in the NWCSL in 1981 with Moss Farm in Northwich, I still play Squash for Barnton in the NWCSL.

I became an England Squash referee in 2003, I attained my Tournament grade (now WSO Level 2) in 2008, since then I have refereed in numerous competitions Inc. The World Open Masters, British National finals, British Junior Open, British Junior Championships, England Squash Masters events including the Home international finals, inter counties senior finals and the National club finals, taking me all over England. Since November 2022 I became the NWCSL referee’s co-ordinator and became the Cheshire County Squash Referee’s Co-ordinator in the late 2006.


Mick Broomhall

I started playing Squash in 1976 while studying Maths & P.E. at Alsager Teachers training College. By 1983, I found myself playing in the NWCSL Division 2 for Alsager and a couple of games in Division 1 for Congleton. Now that I had found my feet, I represented Cheshire at all age groups from Over 35’s through to Over 65’s claiming a few County titles on the way. I have competed in England Squash Masters squash events, and have won the South of England Masters as a 55-year-old and the East of England Masters at the age of 60. In 2012, I was the highest points scorer in the country at Over 60 level. I represented England in the Over 55’s Home Internationals in Cardiff, and Over 60’s in Dublin in 2012, and won all my games. I started refereeing in 2021 in the NWCSL and attained my WSO Level 2 in August 2023, I Referee for England Squash at major events including the British Universities, British Junior Championships and Masters events.


Matt Uren

I started playing squash in 1995 at Runcorn, and then started playing for for Widnes Rugby Club. I am currently playing for Barnton in the NWCSL and I have played in the National Police competition. I reached the final of the vets and represented the Police in the quadrangular tournament against the Fire, civil service and the Armed Forces. I have played for Cheshire in the England Squash inter Counties at over 35 & 45s. I passed my WSO Level 1 and Level 2 theory in 2021 and have been a Referee in the NWCSL for several years.


Robbie Blair

I started playing squash in 1977 within the NWCSL, playing mostly in the 1st Division. I played with Peter Nicol in his early days at Chester rugby, and over the years I have won 17 County titles at various age levels. I also won several European titles, including Dutch and Rotterdam opens in 1984, narrowly lost in final of the over 55s, the Dutch open in 2017, and I have been playing for Cheshire since 1981. Currently I am representing GB vets and captain the Second team at Warrington sports club. I have been the Cheshire County Captain and a member of the committee for 15 years. I have been a referee since 2012. Following my WSO online Test, I am now a WSO Level 1 and referee for Cheshire and the NWCSL.                                              


Nathan Taylor-Wilson

Hi, I am Nathan Taylor-Wilson, a ESR Level 3 coach with over 10 years of experience coaching all abilities and ages from young juniors to adults and county academies, alongside being the current Alderley Edge Head coach. I have prior experience of playing Division 1, for both Warrington and Alderley Edge but currently play for Woolston. I came to squash late and only started playing when I was 14 years old, with my greatest highlight being playing for the Cheshire County. Moreover, I have recently turned my skillset towards refereeing, I passed my WSO level 1 theory in September 2023, I now referee for England Squash and also for the NWCSL and Cheshire Squash.
